We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Computer Science Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Southend-on-Sea. This full-time, permanent role presents an exciting opportunity to inspire students and develop their understanding of computing, coding, and digital technology.
As a Computer Science Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that equip students with essential skills for the digital age. You will play a vital role in fostering curiosity, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking, preparing students for careers in technology, software development, and IT industries.
This role is ideal for a passionate educator who is dedicated to innovation and excellence in teaching.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Computer Science lessons that align with the national curriculum.
* Teach a range of topics including coding, programming languages (Python, Java, or C++), algorithms, cybersecurity, and data science.
* Inspire students to develop digital literacy skills and prepare for GCSEs and A-Level examinations.
* Utilise a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
* Support students with practical computing projects, encouraging creativity and independent problem-solving.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance the school’s IT and computing provision.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and tailored support.
* Promote positive behaviour management strategies and student engagement in learning.
* Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, maintaining the welfare of all students.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent desirable, not essential.
* Strong knowledge of Computer Science, ICT, and emerging technologies.
* Experience teaching GCSE and A-Level Computer Science is desirable but not essential.
* Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++) and industry-standard software.
* A passion for developing students’ digital skills and preparing them for future careers in technology.
* Excellent communication, classroom management, and organisational skills.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
