Paediatric Registered Nurse (Children's Ward)
This is a 6-month, fixed-term, full-time (37.5 hour) contract for a children's nurse on the children's ward to cover for maternity leave. The successful applicant will need to work a mixture of long days, nights, and weekend duties. The successful applicant will need to be a registered children's nurse or a registered nurse with experience in working in a paediatric setting.
Children's ward is a 10-bedded children's ward with a co-located 3-bedded paediatric Assessment unit and a 4-bedded children's day ward.
Main duties of the job
The main ward duties will include but are not limited to:
* Assessing
* Planning
* Acting as a supervisor to students and providing family-centred care
* Working as part of the MDT
* Safeguarding
* Carrying out nursing procedures

Qualifications, Experience and Aptitudes
* RN/RSCN/RN child with current NMC registration
* Good basic education including use of English and Maths
* Basic IT skills
* NHS experience in service working with children and young people
* Good understanding of child and adolescent development, Child Protection issues
* Principles underlying confidentiality and information sharing
* Able to work autonomously in stressful situations
* Boundary keeping
* Ability to maintain effectiveness under pressure
* Act in ways that support equality and diversity
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
