Apprenticeship Overview Expected duration: 21 months Apprenticeship level: Level 3 (Advanced) Programme: IT Communications Technician During this apprenticeship, you will follow a fully supported training programme with an accredited apprenticeship provider, delivered through combined weekly remote classroom-based training, workplace assessment/training and online learning working towards completing the IT Communications Technician standard. Requirements It is a requirement to have five GCSE 9-4 grades or equivalent (including English and Maths) to apply for this type of apprenticeship. If you do not have these grades but have completed numeracy and literacy Key Skills/Functional Skills at level two you may also apply for these apprenticeships. Eligibility You must meet the following eligibility criteria to apply for the role: Have been a UK/EEA resident for the last 3 years Hold valid residency status Have the right to work in the UK Key responsibilities: Providing IT Support and Service Delivery as part of the IT Department and Service Desk. Troubleshooting computer problems in line with Company Service Level Agreements and KPIs. Assisting the IT Manager in delivering IT Projects. Advising staff on appropriate actions, processes and procedures. Liaising between staff and the IT department to resolve issues. Ownership of user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues. Performing hardware and software installations. Management of the IT Asset Register. Ensuring quality of service to internal and external clients. Assisting with the development of reporting capabilities and reviewing performance metrics to improve service delivery. Attending and completing all required tasks, study days and exams directly pertaining to the apprenticeship contract, engaging fully with the assigned Tutor. Any other duties deemed necessary, which are within the bounds of the incumbent’s competence and function. Essential skills, characteristics and experience Interpersonal skills and capable of learning and attaining the following: IT Helpdesk Service Delivery and Ticket Management IT Service Delivery, Enterprise Windows Domains, Server architecture, SANs, NAS, Azure, Email, Networking and Office 365 Active Directory and Azure Entra ID Administration Supporting new applications Documenting in alignment with Geoquip processes and training others to do so Knowledge of Windows operating systems (Desktop and Server components) Knowledge of hardware installation and software installation Troubleshooting Key characteristics include: Methodical Approach Tenacity Diligence Attention to Detail Positive Attitude Confidentiality Communication Skills Self-Belief What can we offer?
