Sun Originals is a brand new video production studio making premium series for The Sun, Sun Sport and Fabulous brands. Creating, developing and producing a slate of brand new original shows, the team are helping The Sun reach its next generation of viewers. Your Role : As an Edit Assistant/ DIT, you will support the Editors and the team and will be required to highlight any client needs, edit sessions, workflow challenges/efficiencies or technical/operational problems to the PM Day to day you will: Ingest and back up of rushes as well as low res proxies creation Update and maintain DIT Log as well as edit Logs Assist on-site editors and prepare edit sequences/projects. Consolidate projects and prepare edits for Grade and Online. Manage media and projects on all relevant location Software based transcription as well as creating CC subtitle files for various online platforms Manage media and archive projects on all relevant locations and file delivery/viewing systems. Prepare sequences and media in advance of an edit. Play out, packaging, and delivering assets from and to Edit, GFX and/or Audio Report any technical problems to the relevant engineering teams. Carry out metadata entry tasks thoroughly What we are looking for from you: An impeccable attention to detail is a must Technical training and experience in a media-based organisation. Good operational knowledge of working within a team editing environment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must have worked for a broadcaster or digital publisher using Adobe Premiere Pro workflows. Knowledge of file-based workflows and broadcast technology, including understanding of video and audio theory. A basic knowledge of remote edit and Cloud-based workflows in general Knowledge of common file types, codecs and resolutions. Ability to QC and repair, where necessary, erroneous content. Good organisational skills – a focused, analytical and methodical approach with excellent attention to detail. Self-motivated with the ability to manage your own time and work to meet demanding deadlines. Ability to work well under pressure and coordinate, prioritise and work in a fast-paced environment.
