We are now recruiting for a Senior Freight Business Development Manager, with a base in Essex. This is a national sales role where you will be responsible for overseeing the global freight forwarding development and growth, ensuring efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods.
This role requires a dynamic sales professional with extensive experience in freight forwarding sales and business development from within the Logistics and Freight industry. This is a unique opportunity for the successful candidate to build a business, utilizing the Company's foundation of freight relationships to drive strategic growth, develop strong customer relationships, and optimize operational processes.
You will:
1. Formulate comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share, boost revenue, and achieve growth objectives within the freight industry.
2. Drive business development to acquire new customers while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients.
3. Regularly engage with key accounts to ensure customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or expanding service offerings.
4. Oversee contract negotiations, service agreements, and pricing strategies with clients to maximize profitability while meeting customer needs.
5. Ensure all sales agreements align with Company policies and financial objectives.
6. Identify growth opportunities in new markets or service lines.
7. Lead initiatives for geographic expansion, strategic partnerships, and collaborations that enhance the company's freight service offering.
In order to apply for this role, you will have:
1. Excellent freight forwarding sales experience, multi-modal sales with strong customer service.
2. Time management and prioritization skills.
3. Strong understanding of financial management reporting.
4. Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
5. Good working knowledge of the Commodities sector.
6. The ability to proactively initiate action, be decisive, and think commercially.
7. Meticulous attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
8. A growth-oriented mindset; AEO experience desirable; proficiency in logistics software and tools.
