The Clinical Sister in the Elderly Ward is a senior nursing role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to elderly patients. This position involves leading a team of nursing staff and healthcare staff, ensuring the implementation of best practices in geriatric care, and enhancing patients' overall experience in the hospital setting.
Ward 20A is a 24-bedded area located on the 2nd floor of UHCW. We are a care of elderly ward within the medicine group.

This role offers the chance to undertake several extended roles, and we provide excellent training and support for nursing staff to achieve competence in a variety of areas. Successful applicants will be motivated and keen to develop their nursing skills and knowledge of leadership and management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct, contributing to corporate objectives, and acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
2. Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy, and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team, including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.
3. A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development.
4. Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented, and evaluated/audited, involving patients and users.
5. Organization of cross-departmental/organizational activities including HR resource and bleep-holder responsibilities as appropriate, such as sickness and absence, skill mix for shift patterns, and complaints.
