Job Description An exciting opportunity has become available to join Boeing United Kingdom Limited as an Experienced Aerodynamic Stability and Control Engineer, based in Farnborough. As an Experienced Aerodynamic Stability and Control Engineer, you will perform analyses to support both airplanes in development and service. You will gain an airplane-level perspective of the vehicle requirements, aerodynamic performance and human factors. You will be relied upon as a flight dynamics and handling qualities expert, influencing the development of the airplane, verifying capabilities during the flight test programme, and/or while supporting our airline customers who operate our airplanes. You will have opportunities to interface directly with other disciplines and the Flight Test pilot community, expanding your network and sphere of influence. You will utilize a variety of computational tools and techniques to reach solutions to complex problems with competing requirements. You will use high fidelity steady-state and dynamic simulation models to analyse extreme flight conditions. You'll be an integral part of ensuring the safety, performance and efficiency of current and future Boeing Commercial Airplane products. This position will be focused on performing requirements verification and System Safety analysis for large transport aircraft. Position Responsibilities: - Perform various System Safety Analyses - Familiarity with Function Hazard Assessments (FHA), Single & Multiple Failure Assessments (S&MF), and System Safety Assessments (SSA) - Understand and apply FAR part 25 certification requirements for large transport aircraft - Develop and verify airplane-level flight requirements - Respond to a variety of technical challenges Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): - Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): - Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree in an Aeronautical-related Engineering field (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering with an airplane interest. UK Engineering Council accredited or US ABET accredited courses are preferred, although not required. - Knowledge of aerodynamic principles and analysis tools - Computer Science, or mathematics minor/interest is desired - Strong programming skills using at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, MATLAB, etc) - Experience working on a diverse team to solve complex problems - Strong understanding of mathematical and statistical methods applied to engineering problems - Ability to deal with ambiguous technical environments - Ability to learn quickly and expand personal expertise with or without technical guidance The Boeing benefits package goes above and beyond, focusing on your physical, emotional, financial and social well-being.
