JBA is seeking an AWS engineer with a solid understanding of the AWS ecosystem to join the Technology, Data and Software Development (TDSD) teams.
Our TDSD teams focus on specialist system, software, and data development for the natural and built environment. We typically collaborate with central government, environmental, transportation, and utility organizations, as well as private companies. They choose us for our reputation in providing innovative and novel solutions, which often require highly resilient systems and processing large volumes of data at scale.
Location:
This role is based in our Skipton office (BD23 3FD). JBA supports flexible and agile working arrangements to promote greater flexibility.
Qualifications and Experience
Key Competencies Required:
* Effective communication skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting junior staff.
* Self-motivation and strong organizational skills are essential.
* Ability to deliver work on time and manage own workload.
* A full UK driving license would be beneficial.
* The ideal candidate will have experience and confidence in leading and supporting the AWS ecosystem for complex projects within multidisciplinary teams. Additional requirements include:
* Significant commercial experience in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise cloud environments.
* Experience administering Windows and Linux environments.
* Experience with containers and orchestration tools such as Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, EKS, etc.
* Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
* Proficiency in configuration management, automation, and scripting with tools such as Python.
* Knowledge of automated deployment technologies like Puppet, Chef, etc.
* Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and enabling team delivery through technology.
* Ideally, candidates will hold an AWS Associate Certification or higher, including specialty certifications.
