BIW Process Engineer
Location: Castle Bromwich - on site full time
Rate: £33 per hour outside IR35
The team is responsible for the development, introduction, and launch of all new/modified processes & facilities associated with new model introductions and model year changes, within the Bodyshop assembly facility. The Process Engineer will be responsible for developing our new, technologically advanced Bodyshop assembly facilities that are currently under design and manufacture to support the global BIW initiatives.
You will be a key part of the BIW Delivery team, working closely with Product Development Engineers, Facility & Tooling vendors, and the Production Operations team to ensure that the Bodyshop facility meets world-class quality and efficiency standards.
Role Responsibilities
1. Utilise your knowledge to plan, develop, and implement BIW assembly processes and facilities to deliver Safety, Quality, Timing, and Cost objectives.
2. Provide feasibility statements for Product Development designs to suit manufacturing build requirements.
3. Ensure robust process quality planning including virtual build simulations and PFMEA's.
4. Support virtual build events, raising and championing issues where appropriate.
5. Support physical builds at workshop, pilot build, and Manufacturing Plant locations, raising and managing issues where appropriate.
6. Evaluate suitability of manufacturing technologies for a wide range of applications (i.e., joining technologies, transfer systems, logistics, etc.).
