Description Wincanton are looking for a Shift Manager to join a small and well-established team at our B&Q distribution centre in Cambuslang, Glasgow. This is a small site, with around 20 employees. Working any 5 days from 7, this role is the following mixed shifts on rotation. 6am – 2pm/2pm – 10pm/10pm - 6am The shifts are expected to be approximately 50/50 days and nights. The salary for this role is £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience. Responsibilities: Responsible for the performance, development, and motivation of a small operational team. To manage all shift warehouse resource and activities to ensure that budgetary/financial KPI’s, and legislative/procedural and contractual commitment are met. To manage the shift performance of the warehouse operation to consistently meet the requirements of the customer. To assist in developing a culture of continuous improvement to drive best-in class activity and operational excellence. To champion Health and Safety onsite, taking part in development of qualifications such as IOSH and NEBOSH. Experience, Skills, and Attributes: Experience of working in a distribution centre or similar environment. Experience of managing people. Some health and safety awareness and willingness to become a champion of. Demonstrate drive, energy, and a commitment to the continuous improvement of overall contract performance. Ability to engage and develop in all aspect of the operation as this is a small site. Have strong admin, organisation, and PC skills. Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to develop good working relationships at all levels. Be able to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
