An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant Physiotherapist specializing in musculoskeletal (MSK) care at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. This new position is part of the launch of a new Ultrasound Service embedded within the single point of access for MSK services in the Bexley Borough.
The post holder will provide consultancy and engage in the four pillars of advanced practice: clinical practice, leadership and management, education, and research, thereby enhancing system-wide expertise. Candidates must meet the requirements outlined in the Centre for Advancing Practice framework for consultant-level practice.
This role is ideal for individuals with extensive clinical and leadership experience at an 8a level seeking further development, or for those already working at a consultant physiotherapy level looking for a new challenge.

Main duties of the job
Oxleas have an established and highly regarded musculoskeletal (MSK) service for Bexley ICB, and in partnership with Kings College Hospital. We have taken this excellent work forward in a new alliance partnership working with the ICB and local secondary care providers. The service provides rapid triage, assessment and treatment for Bexley residents with MSK conditions and MSK rehabilitation needs, linking with other services to ensure the right treatment is delivered in the right place and time.
The post holder will join a multidisciplinary pain team that includes Podiatrists, Occupational Therapist Hand Therapists, Pain Psychologists, Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Pain Management Physiotherapists, First Contract Practitioners, Service Manager and Administrative staff. The post involves close working with MDT members to provide holistic care to treat MSK pain in a community setting so strong communication and team-working skills are essential.
The successful candidate will lead on continued development of the new Bexley MSK Ultrasound service, alongside more generalised clinical leadership within Bexley MSK; providing expert consultant level knowledge on the assessment and rehabilitation of MSK patients across the service, challenging traditional models of care & leading innovation in practice.

* HPC and CSP Registered
* Minimum 10 years experience working at highly specialist level in MSK
* Master of Science Honors or research Degree
* Qualification in CASE Accredited MSK Sonography
* Qualification in Independent Prescribing
* Post Graduate training pertaining to radiology (MRI, X-ray)
* Qualification in joint and soft tissue injections
* Ability to work effectively within a multi-professional team and establish a shared care approach to patient care
* Knowledge of Clinical Governance and an understanding of Clinical Governance in Physiotherapy
* Demonstrates excellent analytical and reflection skills
* Ability to synthesize and present complex information at a service level

* Minimum 5 years experience working at ESP level
