Adecco Engineering have an exciting opportunity within a market leading FMCG company for a Maintenance Engineering Team Leader based in Edinburgh.
Salary: £51,886
Role Duration: Full Time, Permanent.
The purpose of this role is to lead an engineering team of 4 to support the operation of the plant, prioritising their work and ensuring the delivery of planned and improvement work. A key part of the role will be supporting the Shift Operations Management teams by providing technical information to production to ensure engineering work is correctly prioritised and decisions are based upon sound technical information.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead an engineering team to support the operation of the plant, prioritising their work and ensuring the delivery of planned and improvement work as well as reactive.
2. Support the development of the engineering team members to ensure they achieve the goals and targets agreed in their role.
3. Ensure that all shift documentation and handovers are up to date and accurate.
4. Ensure that the Shift Team updates all Maintenance systems and records accurately and in a timely manner.
5. Support the Operations Shift Management team by providing accurate technical detail for handovers and participate in decision making.
6. Escalate issues for external support as required.
7. Attend short interval control meetings representing the Engineering function, providing updates on current Engineering work.
8. Ensure plant is safe to operate and maintain and engineers conform to health and safety legislation, policies, and standards.
9. Work within the framework of a group wide engineering reliability strategy.
10. Maintain equipment in line with relevant food safety legislation.
11. Responsible for PTW and contractor control when required, ensuring that SWP are adhered to.
12. Responsible for organising your team's holidays and sickness policy including RTW.
13. Application and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice in your own and your team's work and the condition of the Engineering workshop and other controlled areas.
14. Personally perform mechanical and electrical trades as qualified to maintain your own skills and ensure work completion.
15. Undertake training & up-skilling programs as directed by business needs and to keep abreast of technological advancements.
16. You may be required to support Safety or Quality, or disciplinary Incident investigations.
What we need from you:
1. Time served in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering disciplines.
2. IOSH (desirable).
3. Food safety/Hygiene qualification (desirable).
4. Knowledge of planned maintenance systems (Shire).
5. Detailed knowledge of using & developing MS Office products, particularly Excel.
6. Manufacturing background (preferably food industry).
7. Demonstrable experience of leadership and coordination of a team.
8. Ability to solve problems using a logical thought process and implement solutions to prevent re-occurrence.
9. Ability to work consistently to high standards and prioritise tasks according to workload.
10. Evidence of operating under pressure in a fast-moving technical environment.
11. Sound decision making skills.
12. The ability to work as part of a multi-faceted team or independently as the situation demands.
13. Must be able to demonstrate a flexible skill set fully exploiting cross or multi-skill elements of training without trade demarcation.
14. Fully conversant and compliant with site Permit to Work and Isolation procedures.
