Do you have an interest in immersive technologies and software development for video games, supported by good programming skills? Would you like to develop the graphical aspects of the next generation software for a world-leading set of immersive, human-in-the-loop simulators, working with academics in a research-oriented and multi-disciplinary environment?
The Human Factors and Safety Group at the Institute for Transport Studies (ITS) is seeking to appoint a programmer to join a small team of software developers undertaking research in road safety and new technologies, at Virtuocity. The programmer will contribute to developments in the Unity-based renderer station software, developing immersive scenarios, and creating 3D models, to help human-factors and psychology researchers achieve new goals in human-in-the-loop experiments involving road user interactions in a Virtual Reality setting.
Responsibilities:
1. Contribute to developments in Unity-based renderer station software.
2. Develop immersive scenarios and create 3D models.
3. Collaborate with human-factors and psychology researchers.
4. Document work and maintain good organizational skills.
Minimum Requirements:
1. A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a programming environment.
2. Programming skills using C++ or C#.
3. Experience in game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
4. Relevant experience in computer graphics and knowledge of graphical modelling with tools like Blender.
