Brighton College International (BCI) is looking to appoint an Intern on a three-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension, to start late February 2025.
Main Purpose of the Role: We are looking for a responsible and confidential person with strong writing, research, and proofreading skills to join our friendly and dedicated team. The intern will assist with the production, editing, and standardizing of Brighton College International material; this includes (but is not restricted to) policies, handbooks, curriculum documents, and educational guides. There is also an opportunity to support business development efforts to expand the growing family of Brighton College schools. This role may require other research tasks as necessary.
General Duties and Responsibilities:
* Assist with the production, editing, and standardizing of Brighton College International material; this includes policies, handbooks, curriculum documents, and educational guides.
* Assist in producing market research reports to identify new business opportunities and potential partners for BCI.
* Support in cultivating relationships with stakeholders, including alumni and parents, to identify potential partners and agents.
* Offer administrative and organizational support to the team as required.
Person Specification:
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree, preferably with a focus on Business and Management, Marketing, or a related field.
* A genuine interest in working within a school setting.
* Strong writing, research, and proofreading skills, with an eye for detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office.
* Creative thinker with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
* Experience with Adobe InDesign and familiarity with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator) is desirable but not essential.
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with a 60-minute unpaid lunch break (37.5 hours per week). This is a three-month fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of an extension.
Remuneration:
The hourly rate for this role will be based on either the National Living Wage or the National Minimum Wage, depending on age.
Holidays:
23 days per annum (pro rata), plus bank holidays, increasing to 28 days plus bank holidays after 2 years of service (of which 3 days need to be taken between Christmas and New Year when the College is closed).
