Job summary An opportunity has arisen for a flexible and motivated individual to join our Paediatric Outpatient team at Burton Hospital as a Receptionist. Successful candidates will be part of a small team here in the children's clinic and will be expected to manage the reception area being the first point of contact for our patients. You will support the outpatient nursing and medical team in providing excellent patient care by being the first point of contact within Paediatric Outpatients. You should have a flexible approach to working and possess first class customer service skills. It is essential that you possess good organisational skills and have a good standard of English. Experience with the Meditech V6 system would be advantageous. You would be expected to manage the reception area, book in patients and liaise with patients and their families via the telephone so excellent interpersonal skills are required. We are a small dynamic team here in the children's clinic. We look for loyalty and hard working team members to ensure the smooth running of the department. Main duties of the job Provide a high standard of administrative support in own departmental area, booking in patients using Meditech To ensure all enquiries are effectively managed and successfully resolved within a prompt timescale, ensuring all relevant personnel are informed as necessary and an appropriate record is maintained. Undertake general administration duties in respect of own department requirements Prioritise own work schedule, to ensure an efficient and timely output within all areas of responsibility, to assist in achievement of quality and audit standards. Ensure timely delivery of regular and ad hoc, data / information requested by the management team, producing reports as required Awareness and understanding of sensitive information, ensuring strict confidentiality at all times Use of IT applications to monitor, prepare and validate databases as appropriate. Assist in the supply of stationery and office items for the department, as required.
