TXM Recruit are looking for an MRP Controller working for one of our rail clients based in Doncaster on a contract basis. Job Purpose To manage a portfolio of Consumable/ Warranty and Repair materials. Utilise a materials planning systems ensuring optimal and accurate stock levels, placing and expediting orders via SAP. Managing SKU’s and stock levels by exception to ensure minimal stock holding and maximal stock accuracy Main Duties Activities Responsibility for the availability and stock levels of a supplier specific list of materials. Responsible for the management of SAP Purchase requisitions, placing and managing orders in line with MRP. Responsible for the management of Supplier order book and engagement with Category managers Completion of management reporting – eg Purchase requisition/Order/Supplier Spend/Depot availability. Identification of improvement programmes required to increase stock availability or forecast accuracy. Work with Projects to support new acquisitions. Work with Suppliers and Procurement to optimise spend. Support Engineering Change management. Support Owner Owned Spares management by providing accurate replenishment information. Management of logistics from Suppliers into Depots and Warehouse. Timely payment of supplier invoices –responsible for Invoice query management. Build strong relationship with other key departments and adopt a collaborative approach To be involved in staff development and training and participate in PDP proceduresKey Skills & Experience It is our expectation that successful applicants should be able to demonstrate the experience and skills listed below: Essential Requirements Minimum 3 years previous experience in a Purchasing or Materials Control role High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum) Proven track record of managing materials in environments with a significant level of uncertainty Fully conversant with modern procurement and purchasing techniques. Experience of working with ERP systems Ability to influence and measure the supply base to defined SLA’s and KPI’s Excellent stakeholder management skills Experience in working with complex, global supply chains A natural problem solver – highly analytical with developed decision making skills Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Commitment to working as part of a team Must have a valid UK driving licenceQualifications Minimum GCSEs – Maths and English (C / 4 or above) Level 3/BTEC /A level or equivalentDesirable Requirements Experience within a Manufacturing / Engineering environment Experience of complex material planning systems Experience in a critical spares industry
