A fantastic opportunity has arisen for those interested in supporting the Speech and Language Therapy team working with children in Wandsworth primary and secondary schools. Supporting children’s communication development is vital and speech therapy plays a crucial role in supporting children to access education and support their health and wellbeing.
This role will involve working directly with children under the guidance of a therapist.
We have a group of assistants who form an important part of our dynamic therapy team.
To support our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service to children attending mainstream primary schools.
• Supporting our SLT team to provide a speech and language therapy service to children attending mainstream primary and secondary schools.
• Supporting school staff to set up and run targeted groups for specific students
• Modelling for education staff
• Encouraging and supporting schools to become a communication friendly environment
• Providing administrative support to the school SLTs.
• To attend team meetings and frequently liaise with other members of the team
• Recording patient information on rio (client database)
• Recording numbers attending groups and reporting to the SLT
• Receiving calls from parents and schools
