How you'll help us live our purpose We've been helping our members save for their future and buy a home of their own since 1875. By joining us, you'll play a big role in helping us to put home ownership within reach of more people, generation after generation. It's a purpose that drives everything we do and one we're proud of. And you can play your part too by joining us as a voluntary Trustee to our LBS Foundation How you'll make a difference The Foundation awards circa £350,000 a year in large and small grants using funds donated by Leeds Building Society and its members through the Your Interest in Theirs scheme. The board of independent Trustees meets quarterly to make funding decisions, set the strategy and approach to grant giving, ensure the Foundation adheres to charity governance and maintains best practice in grant making. If you have a passion for addressing inequalities, an understanding of the social issues that charities and communities face, the ability to make well-informed judgements, with a commitment to teamworking and your own professional development, we'd love to hear from you. What will you bring to the role? An understanding of the social issues which charities and communities face. An interest in strategic approaches to community giving. Understanding of social value, social return on investment and the ability to review project deliverables and impact whilst measuring risk. The ability to follow a robust review process, distil information and make clear, balanced, and well-informed judgements. Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret basic numerical data (when reviewing applicant charity accounts and the Foundation's annual report and accounts) The ability to conceptualise new ways of working and be unafraid to question the status quo. Able to work as part of team with Trustees from within and outside of the Society. Professional or lived experience of the issues the Foundation aims to address. Skills in charity law, social impact measurement, marketing and PR would complement the experience of the existing Board. Why wait? Apply now We'd love to hear from you. But don't wait around - we may close the advert early and we'd hate for you to miss out. Shortlisted applicants will have an informal conversation with the Foundation Secretary in the first instance before an interview with the Chair. Leeds Building Society is devoted to creating a culture and workplace that is representative of the communities we serve. If you'd like to work with us but are unsure if you meet the full criteria for a role, please contact the recruiter as we'd like to find out more about the skills and experience that you could bring to the Society. We're committed to supporting you to be at your best and if you'd like to discuss any reasonable adjustments, please reach out to us on. LI-Hybrid ADZN1_UKTJ
