Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team working as a main contractor in the health, education, insurance and commercial sector. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects of construction projects are meticulously controlled and monitored. This position requires strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of cost control processes, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Prepare and manage cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects from a financial perspective.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, implementing cost control measures as necessary.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that project specifications are met within budget constraints.
Prepare tender documentation and assist in the selection of contractors.
Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Provide advice on procurement strategies and contractual matters.
Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
Prepare reports for management on project costs, forecasts, and variances.
Requirements
A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential.
Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of cost control processes and methodologies.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Drive to help develop and grow company and create relationships with new clients
A professional qualification such as MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is advantageous but not mandatory.
