How will you make an impact in this role? The Global Compliance & Ethics team plays a critical role in protecting American Express, our brand and colleagues through practical, solution-focused guidance on regulatory and ethics-related matters. Within Global Merchant and Network Services Compliance, the Global Network Partnerships Compliance team performs second-line oversight of the Global Network Partnerships business, ensuring a robust and sustainable compliance risk management framework. Global Network Partnership deliver business growth through the licensing of card issuing and merchant acquiring activities to external financial institutions. These classify as participants on the American Express Global Network and, as such, are subject to the American Express Global Network Services Business and Operational Policies (AEGNS BOP), in addition to applicable local laws and regulations. Responsibilities: - Reporting to the Director, Compliance Global Network Partnerships US and EMEA, the Compliance Manager will be responsible for: - Supporting the development, implementation and execution of a Compliance oversight program for Global Network Partnerships, including in the areas of participant due diligence, business development and partner management - Effective challenge and oversight of GNP risk reduction and mitigation activities, as required under the Compliance Risk Management Program and the broader Operational Risk Program - Supporting the annual Control and Compliance evaluation process, Compliance Risk Assessment, Compliance Monitoring & Testing - Collaborating with a broad group of stakeholders including General Counsel Office, Global Financial Crimes Compliance, Global Privacy Office, GMNS Control Management and broader GNS business teams, to ensure compliance with Enterprise-wide policies and procedures and local regulatory requirements applicable to the operations of the American Express network. - Providing Compliance advisory and credible challenge in the development and evolution of centrally managed GNS policies, products, capabilities, processes and controls to enable the business to comply with applicable laws and regulations Minimum Qualifications: - Experience in executing Compliance risk management and oversight programs in a matrix organisation, addressing regulatory requirements including in the areas of Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions, Anti-Corruption, Data Privacy, Business Conduct and Payments Regulations - Compliance expertise in risk assessment, risk identification, articulation and escalation - Expertise in control evaluation, including control design and effectiveness - Experience in independent testing, auditing an asset - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Ability to manage and drive assignments to completion, take on additional responsibilities and prioritise work in a constantly changing and deadline-driven environment - Working knowledge of the payments industry, licensing models, network operations desirable - University Degree and/or Compliance qualifications Qualifications We back our colleagues and their loved ones with benefits and programs that support their holistic well-being.
