The Diabetes Specialist Nursing Service has an opportunity for an experienced nurse with an interest in diabetes to join our team. You should have a desire to enhance your knowledge and skills in diabetes within an inpatient setting. We require a motivated and enthusiastic nurse with excellent communication and leadership skills to supplement our team. We will provide support, training and guidance to enhance your skills within the role of a Diabetes Specialist Nurse. Assess, plan and implement treatment plans for people with diabetes whilst an inpatient. Contribute to the organisation and delivery of specialist education and training to other health care professionals, carers on all aspects of diabetes management. To have the ability to work autonomously in the provision of a specialist, evidence based and high quality service for people with diabetes. and with the support of nursing and medical colleagues. You will work closely with the Consultants, Clinical Nurse Specialist’s and other multidisciplinary team members, playing an important role in the delivery of effective care and management of inpatients with diabetes. You must be able to work autonomously, organise your workload effectively and adapt to, as well as drive change at a local level.
