Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for teaching and a strong understanding of swimming techniques. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for educating individuals aged 5 - 11 years in swimming skills, promoting water safety, and fostering a positive learning environment. This role is perfect for those with experience in swim teaching and a desire to make a difference, offering aquatic education to all.
Duties
* Conduct swimming lessons for groups of pre-school and infant school children of varying skill levels in our on-site pool.
* Develop customised lesson plans that cater to the needs and abilities of each student.
* Educate students on water safety practices and the importance of swimming skills.
* Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their performance.
* Maintain a safe and clean environment in and around the pool area.
* Communicate effectively with students and their teaching staff regarding progress and any concerns.
* Collaborate with other instructors to ensure a cohesive teaching approach.
* Carry out regular chemical checks.
Qualifications & Skills
* STA Level 2 Certificate in Swimming Teaching or equivalent.
* STA Safety Award for teachers or equivalent.
* STA Swimming Pool Water Testing (Can be achieved before post begins).
* STA Pool Plant Operations or equivalent (Can be achieved before post begins).
* Previous experience in teaching swimming or sports coaching is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety principles.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* Ability to work well with individuals of all ages, from children to adults.
* A positive attitude, patience, and enthusiasm for teaching are essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 weeks
Pay: £18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
