This is where you come in. We are on a journey. A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose. Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity This is a key role in Aldermore’s Financial Reporting team. As a qualified accountant and working as part of a small team where each individual both ‘leads’ and ‘does’, the role involves all the usual aspects expected in a Financial Reporting team in a subsidiary of a larger group, including consolidation. This is a hands-on role with responsibility over month end processes and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the financial result and reporting to our parent group, FirstRand. The role reports into the Financial Reporting Manager. As the Bank is a fast growing company and operates in a regulated market the candidate must be comfortable operating in an environment where ‘change’ is the norm. They should also have the drive and tenacity to identify where change is needed, implement change and be willing to get involved in projects outside of their BAU role where appropriate. There is a need to design and build new processes to improve reporting and/or controls as well as automate and streamline existing processes. The successful candidate is expected to use their initiative in this area and work with other team members and other teams to achieve this. Stakeholder management and building relationships with other teams is a key part of this, as is the ability to work independently and pragmatically. What will your day look like? Expert monthly analysis of the income statement and balance sheet for the Group Key contributor to the Group wide month end and year end close process to ensure all financial controls and processes are in line with the Financial Reporting Framework.
