Audio and Automotive Systems Engineer

This position would appeal to a systems, development or audio engineer who enjoys working in a dynamic and fast moving R&D environment where new product ideas are turned around in a matter of days. You’ll have access to some of the latest tools and be working with about 100 engineers all dedicated to coming up with the latest must have consumer products.
You’ll be specifically working on high end audio products for the automotive industry – systems that are used in cars like Maserati’s and McLaren’s so if you enjoy developing premium products where the focus is on quality rather than quantity then this is definitely for you.
We are looking for someone to be the primary technical point of contact for their automotive partners, including OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. In this role you’ll drive systems engineering efforts, aligning core products, technologies and experiences with automotive industry requirements while fostering strong partnerships.
At the R&D centre you’ll be working closely with internal engineering teams, business development, and external automotive partners to align system architectures, drive technical requirements and deliver high performance automotive solutions for next generation vehicles.
This would suit an engineer who has an open communication style, the ability to juggle multiple projects whilst working alongside various specialists.
Qualifications & Skills
1. BS or MS in Engineering, Acoustics or a related field; demonstrable experience in developing audio systems, ideally for automotive applications.
2. A focus on partnerships or cross-company collaboration.
3. Excellent leadership skills with a consistent track record of driving product delivery and operational excellence with OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and automotive technology providers.
4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude to addressing challenges.
5. Strategic problem solver and influencer with the ability to identify and exploit new opportunities and technologies.
6. Dynamic, able to learn quickly; self-starter and unafraid to ask questions.
7. Good written and verbal communication skills – able to translate complex problems/issues into simple to understand form; able succinctly compile and compose written reports and presentations.
Advantageous:
1. Understanding of vehicle electrical and audio architectures, embedded systems, and software/hardware integration.
2. Knowledge of automotive UX/UI systems and HMI design considerations.
3. Hands-on experience with system simulation and audio tuning tools (MATLAB/Simulink, AudioWeaver, etc.).
There will be some travel associated with the position so you should also have a driving license & be willing to travel at short notice.
