We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic orthoptist to join our dynamic team at RDUH Foundation Trust based at the West of England Eye Unit in Exeter. The post holder will lead the school vision screening service and community orthoptic services. They will work in core and specialist orthoptic clinics in the acute hospital and across community sites and lead the departmental audit and develop research opportunities.

Job responsibilities
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in our friendly team based in Exeter consisting of 7 Orthoptists, 1 orthoptic assistant, 17 Ophthalmologists, and 6 Optometrists. As well as leading the vision screening and community orthoptic service, the post holder will work in a wide range of specialist consultant services including Paediatric ophthalmology, Neuro ophthalmology, Thyroid clinic, and Ocular motility. We are also the regional centre for paediatric cataract surgery. You will have the exciting role of developing research and audit opportunities for the orthoptic department.
* The Orthoptic service is provided at the acute hospital in Exeter and several community hospital locations; therefore, the post holder must be able to travel.
* Applicants must be registered with the HCPC.
* This is a full-time post but part-time will be considered.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours over 4 days. 3 days of 9.5 hours and one day of 9 hours.
