About the opportunity: The Box Encapsulation Plant project is one of the most important construction projects at the Sellafield Site, the plant will play a vital role in Sellafield's 100-year clean-up programme by taking nuclear waste recovered from the sites original waste plants and encasing it in concrete so it can be stored in a modern building. The plant is primarily designed to deal with waste from the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo, one of four legacy waste plants prioritised for clean-up by Sellafield Ltd's owner, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). Alongside that work, the plant will also receive certain wastes from the other three legacy waste stores, the First Generation Magnox Storage Pond, the Pile Fuel Storage Pond, and Pile Fuel Cladding Silo. For our site team at Sellafield, we are seeking a Site Facilities Manager. Responsibilities - To manage a range of building and general support services within the Facilities Department, to plan and programme office rearrangements and to ensure a safe working environment within the area of responsibility. - Manage/supervise building and general services maintenance and provide regular feedback on current work to the Support Services Manager. - Building management for 300 personnel and 200 white collar - Manage/supervise contract security services and ensure all security incidents are reported to the appropriate in-line Management. Liaison with Sellafield Contractor Control Room, site emergency arrangements and mustering. - Carry out risk assessments whenever required and issue permits to work within own area of responsibility. - Support the Office Manager to plan office rearrangements in conjunction with the appropriate management. - Work as part of the Facilities Department Team in providing a flexible service and be available whenever possible for silent hours emergencies. - Work within budgets and provide budgetary information to the Support Services Manager when required. - Comply with all current Health, Safety and Environmental regulations and report any breaches via the appropriate reporting routes. Responsible for fire risk assessments, legionella risk assessments and oversight of contractors to support Fire and Water systems - Provide and maintain office furniture as required and keep Support Services Manager informed of requirements for new items. - Manage/supervise contractors/labour to ensure effective use of time and resources. - It will be the responsibility of the Site Facilities Manager to enforce a clear desk policy which will be vital for ensuring desk spaces are used to their maximum potential and for security reasons. - Manage all suppliers/contractors including reactive maintenance contractors and service contractors etc. to ensure compliance with H&S regulations and agreed KPIs. - Physical office and construction site security, Interface between BEP Security Manager and SL site office - On site lead for the BEP Access System Requirements - IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent - NVQ Level 4 in Supervision or equivalent - Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental practices, and relevant H&S legislation - Ability to supervise and manage the work of subordinate staff, including contract staff - Understands and works to commercial procedures for purchasing, tenders/quotations and monitoring of contractors to provide fully auditable records - Experience of working with/managing outsourced catering operations Our Culture: Our values stand on a foundation of safety, integrity, inclusion and diversity.
