Your impact: As a Geotechnical Laboratory Technician specializing in Advanced Testing, you will be at the forefront of conducting cutting-edge soil testing, including rock classification when needed. Collaborating with our Advanced Testing Team Leader and Research and Development Engineer, you will perform a range of tests such as monotonic/cyclic triaxial, direct/ring shear, controlled rate of strain/incremental load, direct/cyclic simple shear, resonant column, and bender element testing. Your role will extend to ensuring quality assurance and presenting data using our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The job: Participate in health and safety initiatives, or training. Prepare, test, and analyse soil samples, including rock samples using laboratory tools or testing equipment. Conduct various advanced tests in a timely manner as required. Record, process and manage test data for final reports, ensuring accuracy and reliability. Monitor industry requirements for expansion or improvements in laboratory testing standards, conducting research and development to explore new testing methodologies or equipment. Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Actively collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide updates on testing progress or results. Support offshore labs and provide after-hours assistance if necessary. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory. Collaborate with other departments to provide technical expertise and guidance on laboratory testing. The person: Experience in a similar role is essential. Preferred degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science, or related fields.
