We need a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school in Surbiton, Kingston Upon Thames (KT5). The school offers excellent facilities, including a sports ground and a wilderness area, creating an engaging environment for both students and staff. This long-term role also presents the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children across KS2 classes, including providing one-to-one SEN support where required.
- Assist the class teacher in delivering the curriculum and monitoring pupils' progress and development.
- Provide personalised support to children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), Moderate Learning Difficulties, and behavioural challenges.
- Foster a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
- Supervise playtimes and lunch breaks, ensuring safeguarding practices and encouraging inclusion.
Requirements:
- A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
- Previous experience working with children, particularly those with SEN, is highly beneficial.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive, empathetic, and patient, with a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
- A valid, in-date DBS and two professional references are required.
