Roles and Responsibilities
The Lifeguard is responsible for maintaining a safe environment where guests can enjoy swimming without fear of injury.
Responsibilities:
* Understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
* Ensure compliance with the MOHG Code of Conduct and all applicable laws and regulations.
* Support all learning and development activities.
* Follow all standards of LQE, MOQA, and Forbes consistently.
* Safeguard stored information and not divulge personal data or confidential information without appropriate authority.
* Refrain from using the hotel’s network for inappropriate activities, which could lead to dismissal.
* Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Safe, Sound, and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
* Comply with the MOHG Social Media Policy regarding content published on social media platforms.
* Maintain a zero tolerance for all forms of harassment or discrimination.
* Act as a hotel ambassador at all times.
* Carry out additional duties requested by management related to hotel operations.
* Maintain constant surveillance of guests in the pool area.
* Respond immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of all guests in emergencies.
* Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency medical services arrive.
* Present a professional appearance and attitude while maintaining a high standard of guest service.
* Perform limited maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe pool facility.
* Pay attention to detail and arrange items according to standards.
* Assist with cleaning the pool area outside of operating hours and ensure standards are maintained throughout the day.
Desired Candidate Profile
* Interact courteously with guests and answer spa, wellness, and hotel-related questions.
* Assist in the smooth flow of guests’ journeys throughout the day.
* Proactively offer assistance to guests when necessary.
* Receive training to implement and monitor Safe, Sound, and Sustainable standards.
* Attend daily and monthly meetings as necessary.
* Complete all required training courses as directed by the Fitness & Wellness Manager.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Senior School qualification or equivalent is a must.
* Certified lifesaving and lifeguarding certification recognized by the UAE.
* Minimum 1 year of experience working as a lifeguard.
* Previous experience in a 5-star hotel environment is an advantage.
* Experience working in the Middle East Region is an advantage.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
* Ability to understand guest needs and deliver superior customer service.
* Mature and outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
