We're looking for a Senior Finance Manager to join us in Bradford.
The role is responsible for both the delivery of Accounting Operations services provided to Egg and being the LSS Account Lead for Egg to provide Operational Excellence through a high standard of service to the business across all areas of responsibility.
Manage the delivery of accounting and reporting processes ensuring delivery of quality internal and external reporting, as well as ensuring the team can quickly respond to business changes and provide support as required. Identify areas of complexity where we can look to improve control as well as standardise and simplify. Embrace digital transformation, apply latest technologies and tools to drive change and efficiency.
As the main LSS point of contact for Egg, manage complex internal and external stakeholder relationships that impact the team's areas of responsibility.
What will you be doing?
* Responsible for the delivery of all accounting services to agreed deadlines and quality
* Manage, mentor and develop team members
* Identify and manage operational and financial risks to OCF and Balance Sheet accounts
* Processes & change:
o Understand and be an expert on the processes within your area, and liaise with stakeholders to understand business changes and strategy. Take responsibility to work with them to amend processes to ensure accounting remains accurate and timely, and other reporting requirements are addressed.
o Critically assess work to ensure it is being performed in the most efficient way, identify opportunities to improve & simplify processes across the department, work collaboratively across the team to standardise processes & work proactively with automation teams to automate tasks.
* Profit and Loss Accounting:
o Review and present reporting packs for stakeholders in line with required deadlines, plus any other ad-hoc reporting as required.
o Provide variance analysis with meaningful commercial commentary
o Work with Group Financial Control and Policy to ensure GAAP compliant policies are applied to profit and loss accounting entries
o Balance Sheet:
+ Responsible for Balance Sheet accounts, including review of reconciliations and ensuring adequate assurance activities have occurred, commercial and transactional completeness of commentary, and summarisation of key items
+ Review and present reporting packs for stakeholders in line with required deadlines, plus any other ad-hoc reporting as required.
o Control: responsible for SOX control completion and effectiveness, payment approvals, chart of accounts mappings and governance changes for your area, and ownership of audit relationship for your area
o HFM reporting: responsible for complete and accurate HFM reporting including movement code analysis and supplemental reporting for the division
o Statutory Accounts: provide support to Financial Accounts with the production of the Statutory Accounts and associated audit requests from External Audit
o Corporation Tax Compliance: provide support to Group Tax with quarterly tax reporting and information requests to support the annual Corporation Tax Returns
We tend to look for people with:
* Essential:
* Professional Accountancy qualification (ACA; ACCA; CIMA etc) with at least 3 years PQE.
* Broad accounting experience (e.g., Management and financial accounting; audit; reporting etc)
* Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS/FRS
* Strong Excel skills essential
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience of working in a complex environment, delivering to deadlines.
* Financial systems skills beneficial (e.g., Oracle, Hyperion/HFM)
* Research into emerging / complex accounting or reporting issues
