Technical Underwriting Manager

Job Details:
1. Take a leading role in the evolution of our Technical Underwriting strategy. Identifying opportunities to optimise our underwriting operations and footprint protections.
2. Develop and lead exposure management activity, including Large Loss analysis and mix reviews.
3. Acting as a technical UW lead to ensure selection of the right risks and utilising all levers in applying the right terms.
4. Leverage insight from market mapping and horizon scanning to drive continuous improvement, innovation and management of emerging risks.
5. Play a pivotal role in pipeline UW projects, and own our UW mappings e.g. occupation groupings and convictions.
6. Building underwriting knowledge across the business and driving an underwriting culture.
Skills we would love you to have:
1. Knowledge of personal lines motor insurance, specifically in Underwriting and Risk Management.
2. Be confident in combining your knowledge and experience with finely-tuned underwriting and commercial judgment.
3. Demonstrate an ability to challenge the status quo, whilst balancing customer and financial outcomes.
4. A passion for data, using analytics to interpret trends, monitor performance, and drive change.
5. Technical coding experience, either Python, SQL or R.
6. A bold, curious and ambitious mindset.

Salary: Attractive salary based on experience + car allowance (pay reviews also completed each year).
