Job description:
The Early Learning Partnership has an opportunity for a Nursery Cook to join our team at our brand new nursery that opened in November.
We are looking for an experienced cook to prepare and cook meals in our on-site kitchen.
You would be part of a warm and welcoming team and see the benefits of your work in the faces of all of our amazing children.
The ideal applicant will:
* Have experience planning and ordering ingredients, working to a set menu
* Prepare and cook healthy meals, working to strict food hygiene systems
* Manage stock control
* Have experience working around allergies and intolerances
* Ensure a safe and clean kitchen is maintained
Online training will be provided to refresh your knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergies, and other key areas.
References will be required.
The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 1:30pm (Hours can be flexible)
Main Duties (but not limited to):
* Organise, cook, and prepare a healthy balanced diet for children aged 0 – 5 years.
* Complete an appropriate food hygiene qualification.
* Be responsible for overall hygiene, health, and safety within the kitchen.
* Prepare additional meals for children with allergies and carry out appropriate allergy training.
* Ensure all stock is ordered for the planned menu.
* Implement and promote all policies and procedures.
* Ensure the safety and welfare of the children at all times.
* Perform daily thorough cleaning of all nursery furniture and equipment.
* Perform daily thorough cleaning of nursery kitchens including equipment such as dishes, microwaves, fridges, and kitchen cupboards.
* Work as part of a team and contribute positively to that staff team, ensuring confidentiality of all information pertaining to the nursery, its operation, children, staff, and parents.
* Approach duties with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
* Be confident, hardworking, and conscientious, promoting good practice at all times.
* Promote good relations between staff members, parents, and children, and uphold the good name and ethos of the nursery.
* Cover any other reasonable responsibilities as appropriate, at the request of the Nursery Manager or senior staff.
