About this role
We are seeking to appoint a permanent post as Senior Lecturer in Aviation Management, to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Engineering. This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape multidisciplined Aerospace and Pilot Studies education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering cutting-edge courses in Aviation management related modules on the Aerospace Engineering and Pilot Studies Programmes, providing mentorship to students, and contributing to research initiatives.
We are particularly interested in candidates who possess a strong academic background and practical experience or collaboration with the Aviation industry. Additionally, we appreciate expertise in broader related areas such as safety management, security, initial and continuing airworthiness.

About you
We require candidates that have a diverse skill set and are well-versed in guiding students through the core concepts of Aviation Management within the context of Aerospace engineering. Specifically, we are looking for individuals with aviation industry experience, particularly in safety management, security, initial and continuing airworthiness. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers.

Candidates should have, or be near completion of, a postgraduate qualification in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation, Management, or a related discipline. If from a professional practice/industry background, successful applicants will have a qualification equivalent to degree level (or above) together with relevant professional experience within the Aerospace and Aviation sector. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is advantageous.
Candidates should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas. Additionally, we appreciate expertise in related areas such as safety management, security, initial and continuing airworthiness. The Appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of all Aerospace and Pilot studies related modules.
