Senior Road Safety Officer

We are looking to recruit a Senior Road Safety Officer to the Transport Planning and Road Safety Team within the Transportation Service.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team of Officers and provide the day-to-day management, co-ordination and delivery of road safety education training and initiatives to a wide ranging audience, ensuring at risk road users are provided with the necessary skills to improve their road safety knowledge and awareness.
The successful candidate will require knowledge of best practice in road safety education, training and publicity, an understanding of current school crossing patrol guidelines and have a grasp of current Welsh Government Policy in respect to Road Safety.
You must be able to demonstrate a history of successfully coordinating and delivering road safety education and training initiatives and have experience of working with children and young people.
The permanent full-time position is based at Llys Cadwyn, Pontypridd, benefiting from nearby public parking and excellent public transport links to Cardiff and the surrounding area. A hybrid working arrangement is currently in place with staff able to work from both home and the office when not out in the community delivering training. The opportunity to work from home is likely to continue in the long term, at least on a part-week basis. Employment hours are 37 hours a week under the flexible working hours scheme, with 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after 5 years), and the opportunity to join the Local Government Pension Scheme and staff benefits card.
You will be required to hold a full valid driving licence and be expected to travel between sites across the County Borough. Access to a Council pool vehicle will be made available.
