Job Title: Welder/Fabricator Location: Livingston Job Type: Permanent Shift: Rotation of early, back and night shift Salary: £38-39k per annum STEM Recruitment are looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator looking for a new challenge. Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a skilled professional to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of welding and fabrication tasks within a busy production environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform both planned and reactive welding and fabrication repairs on forging presses, furnaces, machine tools, and dies. Support the site in achieving business objectives and operational improvements. Ensure continuity of production and high-quality standards to meet customer expectations. Set up and operate Sub Arc welding machines, ensuring alignment and adjustment as per blueprints. Conduct welding repairs using materials such as Titanium, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, Inconel, and High Carbon content steels. Preheat surfaces using hand torches or heating furnaces before welding. Visually inspect welds for adherence to specifications and adjust machine settings as necessary. Participate in continuous improvement activities, including Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and 6S initiatives. Maintain high standards of health, safety, and housekeeping within the workplace. Essential Skills & Experience: Time-served Welder with experience in Sub Arc Welding techniques. Proven track record in fabricating work to a high standard. Ability to interpret work instructions, technical drawings, and schematics. Computer literate with the ability to record work progress electronically. Comfortable working at heights and within enclosed spaces. Previous industry or production experience is beneficial. Strong understanding and application of safe working practices.
