Our client, who is in the construction sector and provides materials and services as required, is looking to grow the accounts and finance team due to business growth. Working in a modern office environment, this role is ideal for a candidate who is keen to work for a business that invests in their staff and offers future progression to Management Accounts level.
You will enjoy responsibility as you support the overall day-to-day running of the Accounts & Finance department, ensuring a seamless operation.
Day-to-day duties include:
Accounts Payable:
1. Setting up new suppliers.
2. Posting supplier invoices.
3. Posting and reconciliation of staff expenses.
4. Generating supplier payments as required.
5. Reconciliation of supplier statements to creditors.
6. Cash posting and allocation.
7. Bank reconciliation.
8. Balance sheet reconciliation.
9. Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
10. Posting accruals and prepayment journals.
11. Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive best practices and process efficiencies.
12. Promoting and driving strong relationships with all departments.
Accounts Receivable:
1. Setting up new customer accounts.
2. Credit control duties, i.e., chasing customer payments.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
1. AAT qualified, a stopped studier, or equivalent.
2. Experience in an accounts and finance function previously.
3. Strong attention to detail.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
7. Ability to learn in-house systems.
8. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with a 30-minute break.
Salary:
