The Role
To ensure an efficient and effective support service by providing a comprehensive confidential secretarial and administrative service across the whole range of the Management Team and Pharmacy Service remit.
Handles highly confidential and sensitive matters, which require a high degree of tact and diplomacy. The postholder will carry out their function autonomously in a pro-active manner by giving advice and acting on their own initiative, to assist in ensuring the smooth running of the office.
The postholder is responsible for assisting in managing the administration of the office, delegating workload and assisting the supervision of other administration staff. Assist in developing administration & clerical service, ensuring that staff needs are being met through the PDP process and that staff are supported via regular contact and formal meetings.
The postholder is directly supervised and a high level of personal initiative is required to make independent decisions regarding workload priorities, pharmacists, external pharmacy contractors, external contractor’s enquiries, general telephone enquiries and diary conflicts.
The service continually evolves and new administrative systems need to be developed by producing standard operational procedure (SOPs).

What we'll need you to bring
* Professional qualification i.e. HNC in a relevant discipline (Business Admin/Secretarial Studies/Public Administration) or equivalent previous experience.
* Well-developed interpersonal skills in customer care.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Good organisational and planning skills.
* Understanding of a range of procedures and processes.
* Ability to prioritise work and work on own initiative whilst under pressure.
* Proficient I.T. skills, which include a working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
* Ensuring confidentiality, diplomacy and discretion are maintained at all times.
