Copello have partnered with an established defence business in the recruitment of an Export Programme Lead. This role will be based 2-3 days onsite out of either their Stevenage or Bristol office. This role is paying up to £60,000 depending on experience.

We are seeking an experienced Export Programme Lead to manage a critical contribution to a major export contract. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, programme coordination, and people management to ensure the successful delivery of Ground Based Air Defence capability on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
You will be working on world-class designs, incorporating new ideas, functionality, and technology to meet customer expectations. The role will see you collaborating with the Physical Domain team, which is responsible for the design definition of the products, managing hardware delivery, system physical architecture, supplier management, and overseeing change, obsolescence, qualification, and certification.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the delivery of the export programme, ensuring it meets the defined schedule, budget, and quality standards.
* Take customer needs and translate them into tasks and work packages for the team.
* Lead, coordinate, and prioritize engineering activities across multiple programmes.
* Manage the estimation and allocation of resources to meet programme goals.
* Be accountable for progress and spending, tracking performance against the established plan.
* Collaborate with customers, partners, and suppliers across Europe, requiring occasional travel.
What We’re Looking For:
* A highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proven experience in delivering complex hardware or programmes, ideally within an international context.
* Strong ability to translate customer needs into actionable tasks and work packages.
* Experience leading and coordinating engineering activities in a multi-programme environment.
* Skilled in estimating and allocating resources effectively to achieve goals.
* Ability to manage progress and spending, ensuring projects stay on track.
* Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally within Europe to engage with customers, partners, and suppliers.
* Ideally, a degree in a relevant engineering or science discipline.
* Experience in managing budgets, plans, and schedules is highly desirable.
