Celebrating Shakespeare is at the heart of everything we do.
The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust is currently looking for two Team Leaders to work with us at Shakespeare’s Birthplace during the 2025 season. The fixed term contract will average 23.625 hours per week, alternating between 27 and 20.25 hours per week and run from Monday 14 April 2025 concluding Sunday 2 November 2025.
You will work with the Visitor Experience Manager, Visitor Operations Manager, and Duty Managers to deliver a world-class visitor experience and oversee aspects of day-to-day visitor operations including the supervision of staff and volunteers.
You will adhere to fire, security, Health & Safety, cash handling, and data protection requirements, and understand your own role within the emergency plans. You will be responsible for holding keys – unlocking and securing the site and grounds; undertaking checks throughout the day to ensure we meet standards desired for our visitors. You will deliver admissions and secondary spend targets and cover the Duty Manager on duty days or at meetings.
To be successful in this role you will have experience of working in a customer-facing operation, preferably in a busy visitor attraction or similar setting. You will have experience of successfully supervising a team to deliver against a range of KPIs including financial and visitor satisfaction targets. You will possess a sound understanding of customer service principles, be able to prioritise and make confident operational decisions under pressure, and have experience of cash handling, building management, and security procedures.
The post holder will be required to work over seven days and Bank Holidays on a rota basis with colleagues. There will also be a requirement to manage and attend some out of hours events.
