Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal
We are an RCVS-accredited practice in Brighton, a vibrant city near the stunning Sussex countryside, offering the best of both city and country living. Our team is friendly, supportive, and approachable, with a strong emphasis on collaboration and clinical excellence.
About the role
This is a permanent position for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse, predominantly based in Brighton, with occasional work at our Peacehaven branch. The hospital has a busy first opinion team, a dedicated OOH and inpatient team and also offers referrals in imaging, cardiology, surgery, laparoscopy and endoscopy. We are particularly looking for nurses with an interest in anaesthesia or ECC, though we welcome applications from those keen to develop in these areas.
The role offers
This role offers a varied clinical caseload, allowing you to work in theatre, nurse clinics, hospital care, and referrals. With a strong focus on emergency and critical care and anaesthesia, it’s ideal for those passionate about these areas. One of the key benefits is that we don’t transfer patients, ensuring they stay in the hospital until they’re ready for outpatient care, which helps maintain continuity of treatment. We offer flexible working options, with full-time hours preferred (37.5 hours a week, 4 days per week, with 1 in 7 weekends), but part-time options can also be considered.
We maintain high clinical standards, offer extensive point-of-care diagnostics and have a committed client base who want the best for their pets. If you believe in delivering exceptional care and service, New Priory is the place for you!
What we are looking for
We’re looking for a Registered Veterinary Nurse with at least three years of post-graduate experience. A passion for anaesthesia or emergency and critical care, or an interest in pursuing a certificate in these areas, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and confidently. While some experience in stock management is beneficial, it’s not essential.
