Glossop Health Team (Glossop Primary Care Network)
An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Primary Care Network due to changes in the ARRS funding scheme now allowing the employment of newly qualified General Practitioners.
To be eligible for this employment, you must have passed CCT in the last 2 years and not held a substantive post in this period.
We have a number of sessions a week available, fixed until the 31st March, with a view to extension, should the funding be approved nationally.
There is also an opportunity to join our TeamUp home visiting service, which is guaranteed past the 31st March 2025.
Main Duties of the Job
Glossop Primary Care Network is a forward-thinking group of practices that are passionate about providing good quality care to a population of 33,000 patients across the practices.
The role will offer variation in working in different practices. The practices allocation could be shared between two people so there is more continuity of care for the patients.
The GP role will require performance as an autonomous practitioner, working alongside other professionals, in order to assess, diagnose, and treat presenting patients in a GP setting.
Job Responsibilities
The GP will work in accordance with the practice rota. The post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including:
1. Surgery consultations
2. Telephone consultations and queries
3. Visiting patients at home
4. Checking and signing/authorising repeat prescriptions
5. Dealing with queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely fashion
6. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems
7. Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
8. Providing plans for the care of the patients
9. Recording clear consultation notes into EMIS
10. Taking part in audits as required
11. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions
12. Prescribing appropriately for patients' needs
13. Visiting patients during surgery time in an emergency if clinically indicated
14. Undertaking home visits as required
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Qualified GP who has passed CCT in the last 2 years and has not held a substantive position in this time (locum work is acceptable).
* Is traceable on the GMC register with no restrictions.
Experience
* Ability to work across different practices and different teams.
