Role Description
We are looking for a Design Engineer reporting to the Project Manager to assist in the smooth running of a Defence Contract.
The successful candidate will need to work with the Project Manager and the Design Manager (System Design Authority), coordinating with customers, suppliers, external bodies as well as the senior management team.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
1. Degree level qualification within a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
2. Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes and practices and the correct recognition of the context of their work within the overall product and an academic basis underpinning the discipline.
3. Knowledge of the engineering lifecycle with experience of operating in the phase relevant to the role and awareness of the entire engineering lifecycle.
4. Experience using Inventor/AutoCAD software.
Key Responsibilities
1. Designing new rugged power protection products, both electrical and mechanical, using Inventor/AutoCAD software.
2. Supporting the development of design solutions to agreed time, cost, and quality in accordance with project or business milestones.
3. Supporting the development and management of requirements specific to a system or product and/or across a system of systems, platform, or programme.
4. Ensure design proving evidence is comprehensive, captured within the requirements management tools, and has been endorsed by the appropriate level of authority.
5. Work with the engineering team to improve own levels of domain knowledge and subject matter expertise.
Requirements:
1. Hold full UK Driver's License.
2. Have a British or dual passport.
3. Will need to pass DBS & BPSS vetting.
4. Live within a commutable distance from Milton Keynes.
