Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will provide administrative and bookkeeping support to the finance team. This is a varied role requiring strong organisational skills and attention to detail.MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPost daily cash receiptsIssue sales invoices and reconcile sales ledger to general ledgerProcess purchase invoices and reconcile to general ledgerEnsure timely payment of suppliersReconcile bank, cash, credit card, and control accountsProcess expense claimsCalculate and pay agent's commissionComplete BACS payments, including international paymentsRespond to finance-related customer queriesPrepare and submit VAT returnsCompile and process payroll, including SSP/SMP calculationsMaintain Motor Insurance Database in liaison with insurance brokerAssist auditors with annual audit preparationGenerate month-end reports and handle general filingPERSON SPECIFICATION: Accounts AssistantQualifications:Strong all-round accounting experience with at least 3 years in a similar roleKnowledge/Skills/Experience:Organised and methodical workerExcellent time management and prioritisation skillsTeam player with a "can-do" attitudeExcellent communication skillsProficient in MS Office and ERP/CRM systemsExperience with payroll and VAT returnsAbility to switch between companies and process transactionsPersonal Qualities/Attitude:Exceptional customer service experienceConfident and approachableCreative thinker, contributing to service improvementSelf-motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and reliableDetail-oriented and takes responsibility for performanceWork Related Circumstances:Willingness to undertake relevant training and develop team trainingBENEFITS23 days holiday plus bank holidaysCompany pension schemeFree on-site parkingCycle to work schemeIf you are a proactive individual with excellent accounting skills and a passion for teamwork, our client's team is eagerly awaiting your application.
