As part of our not-for-profit organisation, whatever your role, you’ll play a unique part in making a remarkable difference to the lives of thousands of people in communities across Wales.
Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Scheme Support Officer to join our Supported Accommodation team at In2Change, Newport, working Waking nights (36hrs per week) on a permanent basis.
What is great about the role?
You will be working with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and complex needs. Every day is different; you’ll be learning new skills and have the opportunity to work with a variety of agencies. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment. * Supporting Project Workers in delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
* Ensuring the building is secure, including health & safety checks and maintaining an awareness of who is in the building
* Dealing with challenging behaviours
* Addressing any additional needs the people we support might have
Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, and anti-social and offending behaviour.
