Finance Assistant Merthyr Tydfil (1 day in office, 4 days working from home) Your new company A forward-thinking, community-based charity organisation whose purpose is to provide essential services are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team. Your new role Your new role will consist of you running the accounting function by inputting invoices onto the accounting system, carrying out reconciliations and completing ad hoc finance duties. You will be dealing with all-round accounts receivable and payable duties and also be assisting with other general admin responsibilities, such as: Management Accounts: such duties consist of assisting with the production of the monthly management accounts to a monthly timetable, assisting with the preparation of annual budgets, re-forecasts and cash flow forecasting, and assisting with the preparation of ad-hoc financial reports as well as other duties. Audit and Year End. Controls and Procedures: this will include reconciliation of control accounts to be reviewed and authorised by line manager as well as other duties. Payroll duties. Generating grant and counselling invoices on Sage 50, and reconciling donation income. Banking and payments. Coding and processing all purchase invoices on Sage 50. Banking cheques and cash donations when required. As well as multiple other banking and payments responsibilities. Provide general accounts assistance as and when required. What you'll need to succeed You will have a background within finance and have experience working within an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role. You will be competent in carrying out all the listed duties as well as having worked on an accounting system. It is desirable that you have a background within purchase ledger for around 3 years and that you have experience with Sage 50. To be successful, you may also possess qualities such as: Basic understanding of accounting processes. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Have knowledge of how to use accounting systems and software. Team working and interpersonal skills. Have experience using Microsoft Excel. Highly organised and able to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Attention to detail.
