Operative
Location: Imerys – St Austell (Rocks)
Hours of work: Day and night shifts across a 4-week rotating shift pattern:
Day Shift: Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)
Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
Night Shift: Week 3: 7pm – 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thur off)
Week 4: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
Salary: £28,988.52 per annum including shift allowance - please note salary will rise, in stages, as competencies are achieved
A hands-on role full of variety and the opportunity to learn new skills and gain valuable training in a wide range of our operations including the use of mobile plant, 4x4 vehicle driving and team leadership.

The job role
You’ll be hands on, working with the team on the full operation of the main tube press, as well as across a variety of process systems such as pumping, drier and wet scrubber, vacuum and air systems.
The more common activities include, but are not limited to:
* Handling machinery such as heat exchangers, pumps and overhead cranes
* Undertaking minor semi-skilled engineering tasks using a selection of hand and power tools
* Providing cover for the Operative within the wet stock department, which involves maintaining “wet stocks” and the incoming quality and conditioning of the “wet feed” and undertaking clay sampling.

You will:
* have strong health, safety and environmental awareness
* ideally possess NVQ level 2 Process Operations or the willingness to gain
* be willing to undertake Lead my Team training
* be able to work at height
* be computer literate
* legally be able to drive in the UK
* have 4 x 4 vehicle driving experience or be willing to be trained
