Leader Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school based in Durham.
This school caters for young people aged 2 to 19 with a diverse range of special educational needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting the needs of children who require extra support, as well as some experience working alongside SEND.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30 until 16:30, and this is a long-term position.
The successful candidate will:
* Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
* Have experience working in a transferable role.
* Have knowledge of EHCPs.
* Follow personalised curriculums and care plans to meet pupils' requirements.
* Work with pupils on both a 1:1 basis and in group settings, communicating effectively.
* Participate in the planning and implementation of the curriculum through lesson planning and delivery.
* Set up lessons, equipment, and activities within the classrooms.
* Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other teams to create a holistic supportive environment for pupils.
