People Operations & Workforce Planning Advisor REF:IRC312097 DEPARTMENT:Agri-Food and BioSciences Institute (AFBI) SALARY:£27,897 - £28,483 (under review) LOCATION:AFBI Newforge, 18a Newforge Lane, Belfast, BT9 5PX Further appointments may be made from this competition should AFBI positions become vacant which have similar duties and responsibilities Job Background The People Operations & Workforce Planning Advisor will be responsible for workforce planning and people operation associated tasks. This role will also have responsibility for developing and adding value to support AFBI in meeting its organisational goals and long-term success. The main duties of the post will be: 1. To support and prioritise external recruitment processes with AFBI stakeholders and HRConnect (HRConnect are an external provider who support a variety of HR related processes); ensuring records are kept up to date with the progression of such processes. 2. Manage the full life cycle of workforce planning processes. 3. Manage the agency worker framework and support stakeholders to secure cover for positions at speed. 4. Manage and maintain records for the use of agency workers. 5. Provide advice and guidance on People and Culture related queries, ensuring that policy and procedure is upheld and that stakeholders receive a highquality service. 6. Produce information on a monthly basis for various stakeholders on the progression of People & Culture related matters. 7. Ensure up to date and accurate statistics are maintained at all times to produce regular reports. 8. Manage internal audits on a monthly basis and seek independent sign off. 9. Provide support at meetings and produce good quality and timely notes. 10.Provide support and advice for absence management processes. 11.Working with the People and Culture Branch to ensure that all HR services are delivered to the same high standard across all divisions, and to maintain the trust of AFBI employees. 12.Engage in and promote positive channels of communications within the People & Culture team and a diverse range of stakeholders across AFBI. 13.Undertake all duties respecting confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care at all times. Eligibility Criteria Applicants must, by the closing date for applications provide evidence in their application form which demonstrates that they satisfy the following essential criteria. 1. 5 GCSEs (equivalent or higher) 2 out of the 5 must include English and Maths at Grade A - C; 2. Hold / or be working towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD); 3. One years demonstrable experience of providing effective guidance and hands on support within a People and Culture function; 4. Demonstrable experience in maintaining good records for management reporting; 5. Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Office packages or equivalent, specifically Excel and Word and their relevant functions i.e use of pivot tables.
