About the Role
My client is a leading provider of high-quality fitout solutions, specialising in bars, restaurants, retail spaces, and stadia. They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on managing costs, contracts, and financial control for a range of fitout projects.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in quantity surveying within the fitout sector, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cost Management and Estimation
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for fitout projects.
* Manage project budgets and perform cost analyses.
* Monitor and control project expenditures.
2. Contract Administration
* Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts and subcontracts.
* Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
* Administer change orders and variations.
3. Procurement and Vendor Management
* Source and evaluate suppliers and subcontractors.
* Prepare and issue tender documents and evaluate responses.
* Negotiate and manage procurement contracts.
4. Project Financial Control
* Conduct regular cost reporting and forecasting.
* Manage cash flow and progress payments.
* Ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
5. Risk Management
* Identify and assess project risks.
* Develop and implement mitigation strategies.
* Maintain risk registers and report on potential impacts.
6. Collaboration and Communication
* Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and clients.
* Attend site meetings and provide financial updates.
* Prepare and present reports to stakeholders.
7. Compliance and Documentation
* Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards.
* Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
* Assist in the preparation of final accounts.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the fitout sector.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., RICS) is an advantage.
