We have opportunities for motivated Field Engineers to join our Technical Communities in the South West of England, contributing to the Nuclear New Build project at Hinkley Point C (HPC).
Job Summary:
A Field Engineer will take responsibility for activities relating to Welding and Mechanical tasks, forming part of a team delivering NEC Supervisor duties as described in the NEC contract.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure construction works meet contract requirements and notify the Construction Superintendent of non-conformance requests.
* Submit non-conformance request details to assist in issuing reports.
* Maintain effective communication with site teams and ensure timely surveillance reporting.
* Contribute to KPI indicators using surveillance information.
* Identify potential Quality issues proactively to enable mitigating actions.
* Support team instructions to maintain safety and quality standards.
* Enhance the team's understanding of current and future site activities.
* Ensure tasks are developed to meet health, safety, and environment standards.
* Develop an understanding of construction drawings, activities, Quality Control Plans, and Inspection Records.
* Monitor Quality Inspection Records before works are covered up.
* Review Contractor performance against the authorised Quality Control Plan.
* Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
* Proficiency in welding processes, metallurgy, and materials science.
* Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to welding and mechanical activities.
Requirements:
* A minimum of HND in Civil / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent vocational training and experience.
* Welding/VT/PT/UT/RT skills and certifications.
* UT/RT Level 1,2, and 3 qualifications.
* IWE/IWT or equivalent welding certification.

The salary is dependent on experience. Due to the nature of the work, candidates will be required to undergo a Basic Security clearance (BPSS) and must have Independent Right to Work in the UK.
